State Football League 2017: Forest XI down Jegangir Sports by a solitary goal

Real Kashmir Blue play draw against Al Bilal

Srinagar: In the ongoing State Football League 2017, three matches were played on Friday. Two matches ended in a draw while in third JK Forest XI won by two goals to one against Iqbal Sports.
In the first A-Division match, played at Polo Ground, Real Kashmir Blue played a goalless draw against Al Bilal FC. Both the teams got several opportunities to score, but wasted them. In Super-Division match played at Synthetic Turf TRC, Rahim Green Solina FC also played a goalless draw against State Football Academy. Both the team got several chances to score but wasted all those and the 0-0 score-line at the end of the match was a fair result for both the teams.
In the Premier-Division match also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, JK Forest defeated Iqbal Sports by 2-1 in a closely contested affair. Momin opened the account for Iqbal Sports in the 8thminute of the game but they could manage the lead only till 16th minute. Ashiq Mushtaq scored an equalizer for Forest Team in the 16th minute and for rest of the match before Naseer Ahmad scored the winning goal for them in the 60th minute. Jehnagir Sports players tried their best to score an equalizer, but when the referee blew the final whistle, the score line read 2-1 in favour of the Forest Team. Javeed Ahmad of the winning team was declared as footballer of the match for his performance.
Meanwhile, the State Football League, a mega event first of its kind in the history of J&K football, is going on at different venues of the state with full swing drawing huge crowds to the football venues. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
