Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday summoned the chairperson of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Mohammad Yasin Khan to its headquarters in New Delhi on September 25. Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s son Syed Naseem Geelani, who teaches at SKUAST-K, was also once again called for questioning to the NIA headquarters on the same day.
The NIA filed a case of alleged funding for “subversive activities in J&K” on May 30. Seven Hurriyat Conference leaders, a top businessman, a photojournalist and a farmer have been arrested in the case so far, and many others have been questioned.
“Naseem has been called again on 25th of September to NIA headquarters in New Delhi,” a statement of the members of Faculty of Forestry, SK University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, said on Friday.
Naseem was first questioned by the NIA from August 8 to August 11 at the NIA headquarters in Delhi. A second round of questioning was done from August 24 to August 30. He has been summoned for questioning for a third time.
