Tral militant attack: Death toll rises to three

Srinagar: The civilian death toll reached three after militants hurled a grenade and opened fire at a minister’s cavalcade in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Thursday.
However senior PDP leader and R&B minister Naeem Akhtar escaped unhurt in the attack.
The third civilian succumbed to his injuries soon after he reached a hospital, sources said.
“The grenade was reportedly hurled at 11.45 am,” a police official told PTI.
The three civilians killed in the attack have been identified as a lady Pinky Kour D/O Ishpal Singh R/O Chattrogam Tral, Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Tral Payeen and Mohammad Iqbal of Tral.
MLA Tral Mushtaq Ahmad Shah while talking to Kashmir Reader confirmed the attack on the cavalcade and said that they were there to inaugurate some project.
As reported earlier militants first hurled a grenade towards the minister’s cavalcade and later opened fire.
Many injured have been shifted to Srinagar hospitals. The injured included many force’s personnel.
