Srinagar: Sleuths of the state vigilance organisation on Monday raided the residence and office of Gazanfar Ali, Director of Rural Development Department, Kashmir, who has been accused of issuing a Supply Order without following the prescribed formalities.
The vigilance organisation has registered a case, FIR No 26/2017 under Section 5(1)d r/w 5(2) J&K PC Act Svt 2006 and Section 120-B RPC of P/S VOK, against Gazanfar Ali.
A press statement issued here said that after obtaining a search warrant from the Anti Corruption Court Srinagar, a case was registered on the outcome of a Joint Surprise Check conducted by sleuths of vigilance organisation Kashmir who were probing allegations that Gazanfar Ali had issued a Supply Order without following the codal formalities in favour of a particular supplier for providing/fixing of hoardings in districts Baramulla and Kupwara.
The Joint Surprise Check, the statement said, had established misappropriation on account of the accused public servant. “It has also been established that the accused public servant has caused wrongful loss to the State exchequer to the tune of Rs 13, 53,335 by hatching a criminal conspiracy along with the accused supplier,” it said. The investigation into the case is going on for further course of action, the statement said.
