BJP ‘Karyakartas’ cut cake, hold photo at Modi’s Kashmir B’day celebration

Anantnag: It was jubilation at the right wing Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) district office in Anantnag on Sunday. The BJP had set its process on Saturday evening to celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turned 67 today.

Speaking to the Kashmir Reader, Anantnag chief of BJP, Rafiq Wani, said, “we mobilised our cadres for birthday of our prime minister last evening and many of them attended the event.”

The birthday of Modi is being observed as “Sewa Divas” across India today.

“I was in Srinagar yesterday and at 6 PM, I came to know that it was PM’s birthday on Sunday so I started preparations,” he said.

The birthday event was held at BJP’s Anantnag office in Government housing colony. It started at 11:30 am and ended around 1:30 pm.

“We had a (birthday) cake and a photo of PM Modi as well in the room,” he informed.

“The workers were told to spread the message of ‘Sabka ka saath’, ‘Sab ka Vikaas’ and they were asked to go to grassroots level to tell people to enjoy the government schemes,” Wani said.

“We held prayers for Modi to take him to top spot at world level as only Modi can take people of the country from all religions along himself,” he added.

Wani was LJP state president and has contested 2009 Lok Sabha elections from South Kashmir seat and in 2008 fought from Devsar Assembly seat for J&K legislature.

He joined BJP in 2014 to fight against late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Anantnag assembly seat.

“In (Anantnag) by-elections, my 5000 voters cast their vote in favour of Mehbooba Mufti because NC and Congress were targeting BJP,” he claimed. “And there were directions from party high command as well.”
