SRINAGAR: Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Geelani, has criticized the summons to Bilqees Shah, the wife of incarcerated senior Hurriyat leader Shabir Shah, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The summons has sought Bilqees Shah to appear before its head office at Delhi. A statement issued by APHC said that the “purpose of such illogical actions” against the pro-freedom leaders was “to prolong their detention and create a frightful atmosphere among other pro-freedom activists”.
Geelani also condemned the “unnecessary harassment” caused to incarcerated Hurriyat leader Gh Mohammad Khan Sopori at Kortbalwal Jail by the enforce department. The statement added that Khan Sopori was forced to leave his residential house at Chanpora Srinagar and the case is sub judice so “ED has no logic to victimize him in the jail premises”.
The pro-freedom leader paid “rich tributes to the Martyrs of Nowgam – Abu Ismail and Chota Qasim and prayed for their eternal peace”.
