JAMMU: Directorate of Agriculture Jammu, H.K. Razdan on Friday convened a ‘One Day Training Programme’ on implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme for assistance in agriculture sector which was inaugurated by the Joint Director of Agriculture, SLUB, Bulesh Zutshi in presence of Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension), S. S. Lakhanpuria and Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs), K. S. Sambyal at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu, an official press note issued here read.
The Sectoral and Drawing & Disbursing Officers from all the districts including concerned sections of the department participated.
Inaugurating the workshop, Zutshi said that DBT Mode is being adopted with the aim of reforming government delivery system by re-engineering the existing process in welfare schemes for simpler and faster flow of information and funds. DBT is the high priority scheme and focus area of the government to ensure accurate targeting of the beneficiaries to have transparency in implementation of schemes, the press note added.
S. S. Lakhanpuria, Joint Director of Agriculture (Extension) advised the nodal officers to create more awareness among all the officers, officials and concerned field functionaries to record the relevant data base of the farming families as per prescribed format.
K. S. Sambyal, Joint Director of Agriculture (Inputs) asked the officers and the field functionaries to upload the data of the beneficiary farmers for supply of seeds, implements and other inputs on subsidised cost.
