VOK files charge sheet for misappropriation of Rs 22 lakh

Srinagar: Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) on Wednesday produced a charge sheet in the Anti-Corruption Court Baramulla against three government employees for alleged misappropriation of temporary advance of Rs 22,10,000 in 2007 by Abdul Karim Dagga, the then Executive Engineer PHE division Handwara, in league with two other employees. A statement issued by VOK said that Dagga, along with Mohammad Muzafar Khan, the then Junior Engineer PHE Handwara, and Showkat Hussain Pir, the then Junior Engineer, Handwara are alleged of criminal conspiracy for fraudulently submitting requisitions amounting to Rs 10,10,000 and Rs 12,00,000 respectively and released an amount of Rs.22,10,000 as temporary advance in their favour.
An FIR (17/2009) under section 5(1)c, (d) r/w 5(2) P C Act Svt. 2006 and Section 120 B, 409, 467, 468, 471 RPC of P/S VOK against Eight (08) accused persons including Three (03) Government officials was registered by VOK. Investigation of the case was concluded and prosecution against the accused has been started.
