Sopore: Students from different educational institutions in North Kashmir on Monday held a protest against the killing of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
The students of government degree college Baramulla and Sopore took out a solidarity march in support of Rohingya Muslims. The protesting students raised slogans in favour of Rohingya muslims while carrying placards and banners reading ‘Stop killing of Innocent Muslims in Burma’.
They said the atrocities being committed on the Muslims in Burma should be stopped immediately by world leaders.
“It is unfortunate that the world community is acting as mute spectator over the killings of Rohingya Muslims,” said a group of students.
The students chanting pro-Islamic and anti-Myanmar government slogans demanded halt to killings of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
They also raised slogans against Aung San Sui Kyi and her government.
Similar protests were held inside the GDC Sopore campus.
Students in Baramulla college also held protests against the arrest of photojournalist Kamran Yousuf.
After the protests of College Students , law students were also seen protesting against Muslim persecution in Burma in Sopore
According to reports, a large number of students of Law college Sopore town took out a peaceful protest rally which started from Amargrah area upto Sangrama Chowk and condemned the killings and persecution of Rohingya Muslims.
