Islamia College defeat GDC Shopian by 53 runs

Srinagar: In the third match of the ongoing Prof. Yousuf Memorial Inter College Cricket Cup played at Islamia College here,The Islamia College Alumni team defeated GDC Shopian by 53 runs in rain curtailed match.
After winning the toss the Alumni captain decided to bat first with his team scoring 199 runs in allotted 25 over’s. Umair Nisar with 35 and Owais Shah with 32 were prominent scorers. For Shopian Mohsin took two wickets.
Chasing the target of 200 runs Shopian team scored 24 runs in the first over, however they could not not maintain the tempo and succumbed to spin bowling of the opponents with the whole team getting out for 146 runs in 22.3 overs.
Asif Khan was the chief wicket taker for Alumni team taking five wickets.
Earlier the team was introduced to the chief guest Prof. Muzafar Ahmed Khan principal of the college.
Amar Singh College Srinagar will play against GDC Sumbal Today while GDC Bijbhara will lock horns against GDC Ganderbal on Wednesday.
