Srinagar: The High Court on Friday pulled up the government for delaying framing of rules regarding gazetted and non-gazetted posts in Forest department, and gave it “one last opportunity” to come up with the notification within four weeks.
Earlier as the court pulled up the government for delay, it was informed that the file was with CM
“We are not bothered with whom the file is. We are concerned with implementation of court directions and that should be done in letter and spirit,” the court said.
B A Dar representing government submitted told the court that almost all the formalities have been completed and “now only the notification of the rules remains to be done”. He told the court that the J&K forest protection (non-gazetted) services recruitment rules would be notified within 15 days and while for gazetted posts, the rules would be notified within four weeks.
A bench of Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey said that within four weeks the issue should be cleared.
Last year, Commissioner Secretary Forest had sought two months time for finalizing the rules.
“We are making it clear that this is the last opportunity that is granted to the respondents”, the court told him on Friday.
Meanwhile, court granted three months time, as sought by the government, to frame rules to effect promotions in the services.
