SRINAGAR: The United Jihad Council (UJC) – aconglomerate of various local militant outifts – and Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir have expressed grave concern over the barbaric killing of Rohangiya Muslims in Burma by “communal and fascist” forces and termed the killings as gruesome and a planned genocide of Muslims. They also castigated the Muslim rulers and OIC for maintaining “criminal silence” over the persecution.
Castigating Muslim rulers and OIC over maintaining “criminal silence” over the persecution and genocide of Rohingya Muslims in Burma, the United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin termed it a “disgrace to (the) whole Muslim Ummah”.
As per a statement issued to a local news agency CNS, Salahuddin while addressing a high level meeting said, “(The) so called human rights organisations of the world are seeking pleasure from the plight of Rohingya Muslims. The callous attitude of the colourful Muslim rulers towards the plight of faithful is not only outrageous but shocking as well.”
“To encourage Muslim genocide in Burma and to give licence to butcher Muslims, (the) Government of India not only provided Rs 4,000 crore aid to pitiless Burmese State but also sent a message of deportation of 40,000 Rohingya refugees from Indian soil,” he said and added that the Nobel Peace Prize recipient Aung San Sui Kyi is not only involved in the killings of innocent Muslims in Burma but has also been instigating the communal Burmese against the unarmed Rohingya Muslims.
“It is a grave situation and Muslim Ummah needs to ponder over it. The chest beating and protests are of no use. If bloodshed doesn’t stop, it will force Muslim youth to adopt different means that will have serious ramifications,” he said.
Syed Salahuddin appealed to the international community particularly the OIC to play its role in stopping the killings of innocent Muslims in Burma.
In a statement, Jama’at said the way Muslims are being massacred at the hands of anti-Muslim forces in Burma depicts that anti-Islamic forces have initiated a planned genocide of Muslims across the globe be it Myanmar, Iraq, Syria, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Kashmir or elsewhere. “These killings should be a grave concern for entire world but unfortunately world bodies including OIC and human rights bodies have kept a silence over these barbaric and gruesome happenings which are highly condemnable and inhumane.”
Except few units from Muslim world, Jama’at said, the leaders of Muslim nations have adopted a politically motivated silence over the brutal killings of Rohangiya Muslims and did not utter a single word against anti-Islamic and anti-Muslim forces on whose behest these leaders are enjoying the taste of power corridors. “It should be a serious concern especially for leaders who are at helm in Muslim countries and generally for all those who have human heart. A killing of Muslims is unacceptable and it will have disastrous ramifications if killings are not stopped forthwith,” it said.
Jama’at urged Muslims across the globe to raise their voice against these killings and take a united stand against communalists, fascists and tyrants whose sole aim is to eradicate the identity of Muslims from the world. It also urged OIC and human rights groups to break their stale silence and express their duty in letter and spirit for the safeguard of Muslim of Myanmar. Jama’at also condemned the arrest spree unleashed by government forces in many parts of valley.
