JKTCC members arrested during solidarity protest

Srinagar: Police on Thursday foiled a protest march of Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Constructional Committee (JKTCC) and detained scores of its members after they tried to march towards UN Office at Sonwar from TRC.
The protesters had assembled at TRC office here and raised slogans against Myanmar government.
The protesters said that the Muslims in Myanmar were being killed and tortured like animals.
“It is unfortunate that the world community instead of raising their voice is maintaining criminal silence over such violence,” they said. They said that it was a duty of every Muslim country to raise their voice against such brutalities to stop the ongoing cruelty at the earliest.
“We urge the Muslim countries to unite over Burma violence and raise their concern in this regard to pressurize the Myanmar government to stop such brutalities in no time,” they added.
