Srinagar: JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested by police from his residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar Thursday.
JKLF sources told Kashmir Reader that a large contingent of police came and arrested Malik.
Talking to present media persons at the time of his arrest Malik alleged the state government of being facilitator of NIA.
“We had already announced to court arrest at NIA headquarter in New Delhi on September 9 then why are we being arrested,” Malik said and added “our arrest has proved that the state government has become facilitator of NIA”.
Pertinently, resistance leaders, Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Malik have announced to travel to New Delhi and court arrest at the NIA headquarters on September 7.
While as Geelani is continuously undergoing house detention, Mirwaiz was placed under house arrest earlier in the day and Malik was formally arrested. Mirwaiz has also announced a protest on Friday against the massacre of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
