Handwara man awarded ‘Best male teacher’

Srinagar: On the occasion of Teachers Day celebrated on September 5, Education department has awarded Mohammad Iqbal Shah, a teacher posted at Girls Higher Secondary School, Bandipora, Handwara, with ‘Best Male Teacher’ award.
Born in a small village, Batpora, in Langate area of Kupwara, Shah started his career in Education Department as a Mathematics and Science teacher in early 90s from Higher Secondary School Handwara, after completing his post-graduation in Physics from University of Kashmir.
“A great lesson can inspire a passion that lasts lifetime while lacklustre teaching can kill learning,” Shah said after receiving the award.
A statement issued here said, Shah has bee instrumental in extending support in innovative programmes for the students of valley, he has co-ordinated many INSPIRE internships at NIT Srinagar. He has been at forefront in making alternate schooling/community classes functional during resilient times in valley.
