Srinagar: On Eid-ul-Azha, the government has decided not to allow congregational Eid prayers at Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) while as Auqaf Jamia Masjid on Thursday announced that Eid prayers would be held in Eidgah, Srinagar on Saturday at 9:30 AM.
The Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Kashmir on Saturday.
According to government sources, the authorities have decided to not allow Eid-ul-Azha prayers at TRC Ground, Srinagar. Every year, Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadith organizes Eid-ul-Azha congregational prayers at TRC.
Sources said the government disallowed offering of prayers at TRC due to the prevailing fluid situation in Kashmir, adding, the formal order has been issued to the police not to allow anybody to offer congregational prayers at TRC.
As per the statement issued here by the Auqaf Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver Eid sermon highlighting the significance of Qurbani and the importance Eid ul Azha from 8:30 AM onwards.
The statement said that people should attend the gathering in large numbers and follow proper discipline, adding, people are also requested to bring prayer mats along.
