11800 works carried out in three blocks, 3211 units completed at Rs 5.97 lakh, Rs 4.12 cr utilized on construction works
KUPWARA: To review the physical and financial progress under various schemes for the year 2016-17 and priorities for 2017-18 carried out by the different executing agencies so for in district Kupwara, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara on Wednesday convened a meeting of officers of Rural Development Department (RDD), Panchayat, Urban Development, Municipality and NRLM agencies.
According to an official press note issued here, under SBM Gramin 11800 works have been carried out in three blocks. It was revealed that out of 13477 units provided, 3211 units were completed in the district at a cost of Rs 5.97 lakh, besides Rs 4.12 crore have been utilized on the construction work of 14 community sanitary complexes taken up in the district. Out of 494 units under SBM Urban at Handwara the construction work of 198 units stands completed while remaining construction is under progress. Besides, Rs 13.60 lakh are being utilized on construction of seven community sanitary complexes, the press note read.
The DDC Kupwara impressed upon the executing and implementing partners for formulating the community committees for seeking suggestions to carry out the works plan under the ambit of the guidelines of the schemes. He also directed the implementing agencies for seeking the funds from their higher-ups to carry out the new works for the community facilities, it added.
