Baramulla: Residents and shopkeepers in Sheeri market of Baramulla district are aghast at the district administration and BEACON for not maintaining a drain running through the market.
The shopkeepers said that the drain has been clogged from several years and BEACON authorities fail to clean it.
They said that they approached the officials of district administration but “they too failed to clear the drain” due to which, they said, deadly diseases could break out in the area.
They said that foul smell emanating from the clogged drain has become a nuisance for school children as well as other people passing through the area.
“We approached the BEACON authorities and district administration Baramulla so many times but both the authorities fail to clear it,” Fayaz Ahmad, a local trader said.
