SRINAGAR: The All J&K Accounts Employees Association (Kashmir Province) held a meeting here to deliberate upon abolishing of treasury system and cadre review.
In a statement, the association said that expressed concern over the “uncertainty” looming over the cadre following the decision by the authorities to switch over from treasury system to pay & account system. “In absence of any clear road map which could have otherwise guided to hassle free switchover to the new dispensation, the accounts fraternity has the compelling reason to feel apprehensive about its viability and about the future of the cadre,” the statement said.
In its earlier meetings with the J&K’s finance minister, the association had expressly held its stand that any change in the present treasury system “should not shake the cadre strength and it should not also case dilute the powers and functions of the accounts personal”, the statement said.
A unanimous resolution was passed appealing the authorities to address these concerns and take the stake holders on board while implementing the Pay & Accounts System and simultaneously spearhead the cadre review “lest the accounts fraternity should be compelled to come on the streets”, added the statement.
