Srinagar: Clashes between protesters and government force’s erupted in Pulwama town of south Kashmir Saturday hours after militants attacked the district police lines.
Local sources told Kashmir Reader that scores of protesters hit the streets and pelted stones on heavily deployed police and other forces personnel.
The forces retaliated with tear smoke shells resulting in chaos in the south town.
The clashes were going on at least a kilometer far from the gunfight site.
As reported earlier militants early morning stormed the district police lines of Pulwama killing a police man and two CRPF soldiers. At least five forces personnel also sustained injuries in the attack.
The militants according to police are holed up in a building and are engaged in a gunfight with army and SOG personnel who have cordoned off a large area.
