SRINAGAR: Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir, Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, on Friday interacted with class representatives from the teaching departments.
The interaction session was organised to listen to the student representatives and address their grievances, if any, related to academics and research.
Urging the students to come forward and make use of such foras to seek redressal of their grievances, Prof Andrabi said: “By holding such interactions, our aim is to ensure more and more participation of students in the affairs of the university. At such foras, it becomes much easier to talk to the students directly.”
Responding to queries of the class representatives on upgradation of infrastructure, space in classrooms and libraries, accommodation in hostels, evaluation system, health-centre augmentation, availability of university transport, and some difficulties being faced in choice-based-credit-system, Prof Andrabi assured that all these issues would be addressed on priority.
Dean Students Welfare Prof GN Khaki said: “During such interactions, we intend to receive a first-hand feedback from students and address their grievances, if any.”
The interaction meeting was also attended by Chief Proctor Dr Naseer Iqbal, Deputy Director, Internal Quality Assurance Showket Shafi, Liaison Officer Ozair Nissar and Cultural Officer Shahid Ali Khan. The session was coordinated by Liaison Officer, Nasia Naqash.
