Leopard killed after coming under train

Srinagar: A leopard was crushed to death when it came under a train in Kulgam district, early Thursday morning.
The incident is first of its kind, since train service was launched in the Kashmir valley.
According to the railway authorities the train halted for a brief while after the accident.
“Wildlife authorities were called in and the carcass was taken away by them, before the train service was resumed,” an official said.
Wild Life warden for Anantnag district, Suhail Intesar, confirmed the incident.
“It was an adult, male leopard. The carcass has been disposed off,” Intesar said.
