Ganderbal: Residents of Tehsil Gund in Ganderbal Wednesday accused the Power Development Department (PDD) of resorting to unscheduled power cuts in the area.
Inhabitants of various areas including Ganiwan, Sumbal, Fraw, Haknar, Gund, Ramwari, Rayil, Kullan and Gaganigar have accused the higher authorities for ignoring their plights and were demanding redressal of their genuine grievance.
The residents said that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to supply regular power supply to the inhabitants.
“We do not receive proper power supply as per schedule and frequent power cuts have become a daily affair now and the electricity remains off especially in the evening hours,” the villagers said.
“The electricity is playing hide and seek from the past two weeks frequent power cuts result in unbearable hardships to us,” said Muzaffar Ahmad Rather a local resident.
“Our exams are going on and due to shortage of Power Supply we have to face a lot of hardships. We have been repeatedly asking authorities to fix this problem but to no avail. We once again appeal PDD to ensure regular power supply,” said a student, Mudasir Ahmad Pandith.
