VOK produces chargesheet against Commercial Taxes employee

Srinagar: Vigilance Organisation of Kashmir produced a chargesheet against an employee of Commercial Taxes department in the court of Special Anti-corruption Judge Srinagar on Wednesday.
A statement issued by Vigilance said that Gulshan Ahmad Yatoo a resident of Nagam Chadoora Budgam, the then Senior Assistant in the Office of Additional Commissioner, Commercial Taxes Solina Srinagar had been caught red handed taking bribe from a complainant in 2015.
The complainant Aijaz Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh of Panzan Chadoora Budgam had alleged that he had deposited passenger taxes for their commercial vehicles in the bank, but the clerk Gulshan Ahmad was demanding Rs 400 for each vehicle for providing issuance of Passenger Tax Book. As Gulshan remained adamant on his demand, Sheikh approached the Vigilance Organization with the complaint, after which a trap was laid in which Gulshan was caught red handed accepting Rs 1,200- as bribe from the complainant, the statement said.
