Srinagar: A CRPF soldier, who was injured in a grenade attack by militants in Budgam district, succumbed to injuries on Wednesday, officials said. An Indian Army trooper, injured in cross LoC firing on Aug 7, also died of his injuries.
Constable Reyaz Ahmad died at SKIMS hospital in Soura. He was among the four force troopers injured in the attack on August 14. Suspected militants had hurled a grenade at a road opening party of CRPF and police at Batpora in Magam area.
43-year-old Havaldar Narendra Singh, the trooper who was injured in cross LoC firing by Pakistani Army on August 7, died on Wednesday, an Army officer told PTI.
Meanwhile, cross LoC shelling along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district continued for the fifth consecutive day, an Indian Army officer said. Four troopers and a woman have died this month in the firing.
