SRINAGAR: Chairman Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday accused the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti of facilitating the “genocide” of Kashmiris and said the graph of civilian killings in State is increasing after “threatening” statements issued by Indian leaders.
He also condemned the continuous detention of resistance leaders including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Shahid-ul-Islam and Farooq Ahmed Dar (Bita Karate) and said the chief minister is “facilitating all this just for her lust of chair”.
In a statement, Geelani said Mehbooba “has waged a war on people” in State and is “implicating resistance leadership in fabricated cases”. He said authorities are using NIA sleuths as a war weapon to suppress the leadership from raising genuine voices and are desperate to create “graveyard silence”.
“The fake allegation(s), NIA raids, and military might won’t dampen our spirits or cow down the aspirations of people,” he said. “The more they resort to these psychological tactics, more it will be resisted by people.”
The Hurriyat chairman also expressed grief over loss of lives and properties across Valley and condemned the killing of two civilians Owais Ahmed and Mohammad Sayeed and those injured. “This genocide is being facilitated by (the) state chief minister,” he said.
Geelani said New Delhi and its armed forces have declared war on people in the State and expressed his deep grief and dismay over the silence maintained by the international community.
