Anantnag: The 16-year-old boy killed in Tral at the hands of government forces was the son of a retired army man, his family members said on Thursday.
Mohammad Younus Sheikh, son of Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, was killed by pellets that were fired by government troops at protesting people near an encounter site in Gulab Bagh area of Tral. Three militants were killed in the encounter.
“Yes, I have served in the Indian Army for more than 20 years,” Khaliq told media persons at his home in Saimoo village of Tral.
He said he retired from the service a couple of years ago and was now working in a bank.
