Srinagar: Senior leaders of Opposition political parties Wednesday called on Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti amid the row over petition on abrogation of Article 35-A, sources said.
They said that opposition leaders informed Mehbooba that attempts to remove the article will have “serious consequences” in the state.
The leaders who met CM include CPI (M) State Secretary, M Y Tarigami, PDF Chairman Hakeem Yaseen, DPN president Ghulam Hassan Mir.
The leaders discussed the “serious implications” of removal of Article 35-A.
Pertinently, Mehbooba had met National Conference President Farooq Abdullah yesterday and discussed the issue with him.
Farooq reportedly had suggested Mehbooba to take entire opposition into confidence.
