Slain militants laid to rest in north Kashmir

Srinagar: A large number of people Saturday attended the funeral prayers of two slain LeT militants Javed Ahmed Dar and Abid Hamid Mir in north Kashmir’s Baramulla and Bandipora districts.
Javed of Khanpora Baramulla and Abid of Hajin Bandipora were killed in Sopore at the hands of government forces during a gunfight, police said.
The gunfight took place at Amargrah area of north Kashmir’s Sopore.
Local sources said that thousands of people despite restrictions had assembled at Khanpora and Hajin to attend the last rites of the slain militants.
The funeral processions at both the places were attended by both men and women who raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
