SRINAGAR: Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the “autocratic and egoistic” behaviour of state authorities saying that its chairman Syed Ali Geelani was again barred from offering Friday prayers.
Slamming the administration for Geelani’s continuous house detention, Hurriyat spokesperson in a statement said preventing the leader from offering obligatory prayers illustrates the “frustration” of authorities.
“State administration is employing (its) evil designs thus verifying our claim that PDP-led authorities are hell bent to turn (the) state into (a) Hindu Rashtra,” he said. “It is sheer vengeance. Through these coward measures, they can neither cow down his sentiments nor sabotage the rightful movement for right to self-determination.”
“All movements of 88-year-old Syed Ali Geelani are restricted and he is confined to his residence,” the spokesperson said.
