Muslims help perform last rites of a Kashmiri Hindu

Baramulla: In a display of communal amity and brotherhood, Muslim villagers gathered to attend final rites of a local Kashmiri Pandit in Bimyar village of border town Uri.
Sham Sundar Lal, who served as Numberdar of Bimyar village for several decades, was living in a Muslim dominated area along with his family. He died on Wednesday evening at his home.
On Thursday morning, hundreds of Muslims reached his home to help the family perform the last rites of deceased as per Hindu rituals. The family of Sham ji thanked Muslim community for the help.
