Doctor bodies condemn ‘hooligan’ attack on ambulance driver

Srinagar: Doctors Association Kashmir and Society of Dental Surgeons J&K (SDSJK) has strongly condemned the assault on the ambulance driver of PHC Laar, Ganderbal who they said after ferrying the patients was beaten to pulp by some miscreants at the hospital.
“The hooligans not only manhandled the driver but harassed the staff on duty along with damage to hospital infrastructure,” the SDSJK said while demanding an FIR to be registered strict action against the culprits.
DAK also stressed on the local administration to take the cognizance of the matter.
A statement issued by DAK said it has been repeatedly stressing the government to bring ordinance wherein manhandling of medical staff and damaging hospital infrastructure be booked as cognisable offence.
“Yesterday’s deplorable attack at District Hospital has taken our worry to a higher extent and Govt.’s lackluster approach is a cause of agony for whole medical staff. DAK stresses the Govt. to act on this grave issue at the earliest,” the DAK statement said.
