ANANTNAG: A complete shutdown was observed on Monday in Pulwama district and parts of Anantnag district, a day after two Hizbul Mujahideen militants were killed in a gunfight in Tahab area of Pulwama.
Minor incidents of stone throwing were reported from Tahab and Tral areas of Pulwama. Nobody was reported injured during the clashes.
The two slain Hizb militants belonged to Gulzarpora in Pulwama and Mahend in Anantnag district.
According to reports, the shutdown was observed across Pulwama district, including in Tral.
Offices, educational institutes and shops remained closed throughout the day. Traffic, however, plied normally in most parts.
In Anantnag district, a complete shutdown was observed in the Dachnipora belt, including in Srigufwara, Mahend and Kanelwan.
Internet services remained suspended in Pulwama district for the second consecutive day.
