Srinagar: A troupe of Indian army soldiers entered a private school campus in Srinagar on Monday morning creating troublesome situation.
Sources in the school said that the army men entered the main campus of Hussaini Public Higher Secondary School at HMT and allegedly harassed the students of tenth class.
“The incident happened before 10 am after the school opened this morning,” sources said.
“The army men had a paper-made list with them and entered class tenth where they harassed the students,” sources in the school said.
The army men belonged to 2 RR of Indian army based in HMT known as ‘Koker-farm camp’.
“The chairperson of the school put up a brave face and resisted the move of armed personnel to harm any student,” a student said. “The army men were perturbed but later retreated.”
In her 60s, Ms Kulsum runs the school – which functions from two-campuses – having roll of more than 1200 students. She lives adjacent to school premises.
While this report was being filed, Superintendent of J&K Police (Srinagar-West) had reached the school premises to calm down the situation.
