IUST signs MoU with iQuasar

Awantipora: Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with iQuasar, a a reputed information technology (IT) company based in Kashmir which deals with Software Development Services, Managed IT Services and Business Process Outsourcing Services.
Registrar of IUST Prof. Syed Reyaz Rufai, and Business Development Head iQuasar Younis Baba signed the MoU on Thursday in presence of the officers of the University.
The MoU was signed with a vision of the university to create an interface with the Industry and will provide a chance for the students of IUST to intern and get instilled with the professional and technical skills that are in tune with the latest job market to enhance their employability.
Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi propelled the idea of opening a way for the students to work within the valley. The VC said that the local talent has to be accommodated by such endeavors working successfully within Kashmir. “These organizations will be giving back to the local community by tapping on the human resource potential of the state and thereby focus their energies on positive economic contributions to society,” he said.
Chief Executive iQuasar Tahir Qazi said that iQuasar has agreed to provide the best internship programs to the university students at their door steps and not only make use of internships as a filter to bubble up the top talent in the valley but cater to their recruitments as well.
Registrar IUST Prof. Syed Reyaz Rufai while speaking at the event expressed his satisfaction on this initiative as the students will be exposed to the latest technologies being used and implemented in the real time corporate environment under the guidance of experienced mentors.
Younis Baba Business development head in Kashmir will organize Career Workshops for the students to help them create self organized learning teams. iQuasar will coach the teams to help them learn how to acquire new technical skills, interpersonal skills, interviewing skills, and using their creativity. This will help students to gain self-awareness and to make better career decisions.
