Sumbal: Students of Government High School Banyari Hajin in Bandipora district took to streets on Wednesday against shortage of teachers in the school.
Hundreds of students assembled outside Zonal Education Office Hajin and staged a sit in protest to press for the demands.
The students chanted slogans and blocked the Hajin –Srinagar road for hours.
The students alleged that the school lacked teachers especially in mathematics and science.
“On one side the government is claiming that it will provide proper education to children especially in rural area but on the ground the claim has proved to be hollow,” a protesting student said.
They added they would stay away from school if the authorities fail to depute the teachers within two days.
Zonal Education Officer Hajin told Kashmir Reader that they have already deputed teachers to the school who will be joining by Thursday.
