Anantnag: Bijbehara town in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district is observing complete shutdown on Wednesday to mourn the killing of 60 year old Mohammad Abdullah Ganai at the hands of Army.
Ganai was injured after Army soldiers opened fire in Bijbehara on Monday. He succumbed to his injuries last evening at SKIMS Soura.
Ganai was a resident of nearby Hussainpora village who was injured after an altercation between Army soldiers and locals was followed by firing at the hands of Army.
All shops, business establishments and educational institutions are closed in the town however traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu highway was moving normally.
