86 MLAs cast vote in JK for Presidential poll

Srinagar: The polling for election to the office of President of India started Monday at 10 am under the supervision of Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Shaleen Kabra, and Election Observers from Election Commission of India.
Assistant Returning Officers and Authorized Agents of the contesting Presidential election candidates were also present during the election process, a statement said.
Polling was conducted smoothly throughout the day and till the time of the conclusion of polling 86 MLAs out of the total 87cast their votes.
Sources said that independent lawmaker Engineer Rashid boycotted the president’s election and did not cast his vote.
