Yatra to continue, victims to be airlifted

Srinagar: CRPF Inspector General (Operations) Zulfiqar Hasan on Tuesday said the Amarnath Yatra will go on and assured that the investigation of the attack on the pilgrims is being investigated.
“It is being investigated by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. It will take some time but we will nab the culprits,” reportedly assured the IG (Operations) CRPF.
On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir government has decided that the yatris injured in the overnight firing incident will be airlifted to Delhi today.
A government official informed that the dead and the injured pilgrims will be shifted to Srinagar, from where they will then be airlifted to New Delhi in a special BSF aircraft.
Seven yatris were killed and 19 others were injured after a group of militants opened fire in Anantnag last night.
The bus Yatris were travelling and which came under the attack was neither a part of a convoy nor registered with the shrine board.
