UJC calls attack on Amarnath pilgrims ‘barbaric’

Srinagar: Linking the Armarnath pilgrim attack to the “Indian strategy and policy to defame Kashmir Freedom Struggle and crack down on the supporters of this struggle”, conglomerate of militant outfits, Unite Jihad Council (UJC) Tuesday condemned the attack on Hindu pilgrims.
A statement of the amalgam said that they were not expecting India will “stoop so low and will target its own people for its vested benefits”.
“The attack on Amarnath pilgrims is barbaric and highly condemnable. India fanatic elements want to target many by a single shot. The attack was not only aimed at to malign the Kashmir Freedom Struggle across globe but also to target insecure Kashmiri students and traders present in different parts of India,” UJC Chief Syed Salahuddin said in the statement.
“Indian security agencies and its aides will get nothing out of this while whole world knows militants and freedom loving people of Kashmir take it as their responsibility to protect the Hindu pilgrims. Kashmiris are known for hospitality who never discriminate on the lines of colour, religion, sex, creed and caste,” he said.
Salahuddin said that the assailants will get exposed in the same way as they had got exposed in Pandit massacre in Wandhama, Sikh massacre in Chattisingpora and Machhil fake encounter.
The United Jehad Council appealed to global human rights organization to constitute an investigating team and probe the incident thoroughly and fairly. Salahuddin expressed sympathies with the victims of the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) also has vehemently condemned the attack on Amarnath pilgrims and called its “barbaric and inhuman”.
Lashkar-e-Toiba said in a statement that attack on Amarnath pilgrims is highly reprehensible act. “Islam does not allow violence against any faith. We strongly condemn such acts. India wants to sabotage the freedom struggle of Kashmiris, therefore it uses such attacks to fulfill its nefarious agenda,” the outfit said. (CNS)
