Shopian: Hundreds of students in government and private schools in Shopian have to travel long distances to reach the examination centers to appear in the state institute of education examinations.
Parents of students from Losedenowand Pargochi area told Kashmir Reader that the government has established the exam center in government high school Trenz which is about five to six kilometers away from Losedenow high school.
“How can the students be in a proper mental frame to wirte exams when they are forced to walk six kilometers in absence of transport facility,” a parent said.
The new arrangement has also burdened the officials working at Trenz school.
“We used to hold exams of about 22 schools of the area, which is not an easy task for us,” an official of the Trenz high school said. He wondered as to why the exam center was not being established at high school Losedenow, which also has staff and facilities.
