Srinagar: Kashmir University’s Department of Law under the banner of its Law Society on Thursday held second Shah-I-Hamdann Legal Quiz Competition-2017.
The team from Vitasta College of Law and Humanities won the competition while teams from University of Kashmir and Kashmir Law College bagged the second and third positions respectively.
The team from Vitasta College comprised Adil Rashid and Shazia Bashir while Mohammad Khalid Shah and Deeba Javaid represented KU’s Department of Law. Hashir Shafi Khan and Rahil Habib of Kashmir Law College were adjudged as third prize winners. The consolation prize was won by team from KU`s Law Department comprising Irfan Hussain and Waseem Shamas.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi distributed cash prizes and certificates among the winners and other participants and appreciated the role played by the Law Society.
“It is doing a very good job and happens to be on the forefront of organizing competitions and programs and creating awareness about legal rights amongst citizens in far-flung areas of the state.”
