SRINAGAR: The Chief Minister’s grievance cell has clarified that they did not humiliate or reprimand the father of twins who had turned to begging for financing surgery of his sons.
Deputy Secretary Grievance cell Inam-ul-Haq said they spoke to director SKIMS and formally dispatched a letter to him to facilitate surgery of the twins on July 4. The father of twins Bashir Ahmad Khan along with his kids had visited the CM grievance cell on Tuesday.
“…I am directed to recommend the said twins to your hospital for doing the needful surgery free of cost. You are also requested to provide financial assistance, if required, in this behalf to patients accordingly,” reads the letter.
Khan had accused an officer at the CM cell of misbehaviour. But the officer said they talked to him today and repeatedly requested him to admit the kids to the hospital. “We assured him he will be also given assistance under PM Awas Yojna for construction of house. The father of twins said he lives in a shed and he will continue to beg but we assured him his house will be constructed under the government of India’s scheme,” he added.
On Wednesday, the family also refused to accept financial help from another person, who did not want to be named.
