Missing boy found dead at Uri LoC

Baramulla: A 13-year-old boy, Maqsood Ahmad Khanday, reported missing by his family two days ago, was found dead at the line of control. Villagers describe the appearance of his body near the LoC as “mysterious”.
Police in Uri was informed about the body by some villagers. The body was later identified as that of Maqsood, son of Mohammad Din Khanday from Kamalkote village of Uri. Police moved the body to sub-district hospital Uri for post-mortem, following which they handed the body over to his parents.
Sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Uri, Syeed Javid Ahmad, said that police has registered a case under Seaton 174 in this connection and started investigations. He said that police has called the deceased’s friends with whom he was last seen.
When asked if the boy was murdered, the SDPO said that police can’t rule out the possibility. “However, we will investigate the incident properly,” he said.
