Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Coordination Committee (JKCC) on Tuesday called for a complete shutdown on Wednesday against what they termed as ‘the highhandedness of the government’ and the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the state.
An amalgam of traders and civil society JKCC said that the authorities “unlawfully detained” them while they were protesting against the implementation of GST today.
“There was no reason to put us behind bars and to stop us from raising the voice against the government’s imminent decision,” Siraj-ud-din, a trader said.
The JKCC appealed people to observe complete shutdown against the government ‘highhandedness’ and its imminent decision of implementing GST in the state. (KNS)
