Srinagar: Indian and Pakistani soldiers exchanged firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said on Thursday.
As per reports quoting official sources two Indian soldiers sustained injuries in the firing incident.
According to defence sources the Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars in the wee hours along the LoC in Poonch sector.
Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively to the ceasefire violation which took place around 1.30 a.m, they said.
In the cross firing, two Indian soldiers sustained minor injuries and were evacuated to the nearest Military Hospital.
Pertinently, both India and Pakistan accuse each other of violating the ceasefire after every such incident along the LoC or International Border (IB).
