Yasin Maik, aide arrested, lodged at central jail

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along-with a senior JKLF member Ghulam Muhammad Dar were arrested on Friday when police raided the party office at Abiguzar here.
A JKLF spokesman said that police cordoned off the office and apprehended Malik. Both the arrested have been shifted to central jail Srinagar on a judicial remand till June 19, 2017.
Before his arrest, Malik told reporters that innocent killings in Kashmir were continuing unabated and holy month of Ramazan has actually seen a rise in this ugly phenomenon. He said the Indian army, police and forces were taking a sadistic pleasure while continuing their killing spree in Kashmir in the holy month of Ramazan.
He said that on one hand Indian rulers are using brute force against Kashmiris and on the other hand NIA terrorism and GST economic aggression are also being employed to weaken and defeat Kashmiri determination. “The killings, arrests, house arrests, crackdowns, beatings, hooliganism, NIA terrorism and GST economic aggression can not deter us from perusing the path of truth and freedom and despite all these aggressive and oppressive tactics of India our freedom struggle will continue till the achievement of the desired goal,” Malik was quoted by a party statement as saying to media persons.
