RAJOURI: A 3-day “Making of Developed India” Festival-2017 organized by District Administration Rajouri kicked off here Friday with massive participation of people.
The festival is being held at Government Higher Secondary School Rajouri.
The festival is being held under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary. Member Parliament (MP), Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest at the inaugural. During the festival the departments will showcase their products and highlight progress and achievements recorded under different schemes, an official press note issued here read.
The MP commended the participating departments for highlighting achievements and displaying material on awareness regarding development and welfare schemes being implemented by them.
Several stalls were setup to apprise people about different schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Fasal Bima Yojana, ICDS, Beti Padhao Beti Bachao, Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Ujjwala Yojna, etc.
According to the press note, resource persons explained to the public the benefits of the schemes being implemented through their respective departments. Stall visitors also conveyed their suggestions to the departments.
Departments of Education, Health, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Panchayats, Agriculture, Horticulture and Labour are prominent in making the festival a success.
MLC, Vibod Gupta, ADC Mumtaz Ali, DPO ICDS Rashid Choudhary, ACR Paramjeet Singh, District Panchayat Officer Shafiq Choudhary beside officers of other departments, former PRI members, students, Anganwadi workers and helpers and people in large numbers participated in the festival that will continue till June 18.
