Srinagar: Kashmir High Court Bar Association on Friday strongly condemned the fresh civilian killings in Srinagar and Anantnag and announced support to the strike called by joint resistance group on Saturday.
A spokesman of the lawyers’ body in a statement also condemned the firing on a passenger vehicle by army at Bandipora in which two civilians were critically injured.
“In order to show its solidarity with those who were martyred by the ruthless forces at Arwani, Kulgam and at Rangreth Srinagar, the Bar Association has decided to support the strike call given by pro-freedom leadership for June 17, 2017 and in order to make the strike call successful, it has decided to request its members not to cause their appearance before the Courts on Saturday,” the spokesman said.
“The Bar Association also wants to emphasize the need of settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the people, because if it is not so settled, not only the blood of innocent people of
Kashmir will continue to spill on the soil of Kashmir and the Kashmiris on both sides of the border will continue to get killed, but the possibility of a nuclear war between in India and Pakistan, is inevitable,” the spokesman added.
