‘Prisoners being deprived of basic facilities’
Srinagar: Stating that the detainees languishing in different jails were being deprived of basic facilities, militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Monday alleged that India was putting lives of prisoners at risk under a well planned conspiracy. In an statement emailed to news agency KNS, Hizb chief Syed Salah-ud-din said that thousands of prisoners including Masarat Alam and Asiya Andrabi were deprived of basic facilities.
“The prisoners languishing in the jails outside Valley are facing hardships due to the temperature and no arrangements have been placed for them in this regard. This attitude has exposed India and the state government that they are intentionally putting the lives of Kashmiris leaders and people at risk,” he said while addressing a Hizb Command Council meet.
“Despite Asiya Andrabi’s deteriorating health, Indian authorities shifted her along with Sofi Fahmeeda to the jail outside Valley,” he said and warned of dire consequences “in case untoward incident will occur with any prisoner.”
He also appealed international human rights bodies “to play their role in stopping the human rights violation in Kashmir as the rights violation in the Valley is endangering the whole South Asia.”
